BIM use checklist (BIM Management Plan and BIM Project Inception Guide supplementary document)
This checklist can be used during discussions between clients, Lead BIM Advisers, consultants and contractors as an aid to identifying the BIM uses appropriate for a project. It can also help define the scope of each BIM use. BIM uses are listed in the order found in the NATSPEC National BIM Guide and Project BIM Brief Template.
Client-Lead BIM Adviser discussion checklist (BIM Project Inception Guide supplementary document)
This checklist is designed to prompt exploration with the client of issues relevant to the use of BIM on a project.
Topics included: Introduction to BIM and its benefits, the building procurement process, briefing information required from the client, project definition considerations and client (or employer) information requirements.
Project BIM Guidelines checklist (BIM Management Plan supplementary document)
This checklist is designed to prompt discussion during the development of the BIM Management Plan of the BIM guidelines needed by the project team .
Project information proforma (BIM Project Inception Guide supplementary document)
This proforma outlines information that can be provided to consultants and contractors bidding on a project. It is not BIM-specific or exhaustive.
Topics include: General project details, project contacts, project brief, scope of services required, insurances, contract details, bid selection criteria and submittal instructions.
RFQ or RFP proforma (BIM Project Inception Guide supplementary document)
This proforma can be adapted for Requests for Qualifications (RFQ) or Requests for Proposals (RFP). For all items other than general organisation details, information relevant to BIM can be highlighted in a BIM Capability Statement that follows a similar format to the proforma.
Topics include: Organisational details and resources, technical capabilities and maturity, management capabilities, collaborative working capabilities and capacity. For RFPs: proposed response to project, proposed team and fees.
